Toca is committed to being green and environmentally-friendly. The wood used is harvested from a plantation in Indonesia, where the drums are then lathed and handcrafted by local musicians. This carefully managed resource is much easier on the environment than wood taken from primary forests. They are beautifully hand carved from one piece of environmentally-friendly plantation Mahogany wood. All djembes have kiln dried shells with up to 20 coats of teak oil that protects and preserves the wood and authentic goatskin heads.
