When people ask Concept Music's owner Graham Hoskins "what instruments do you play?" he says they usually think he's joking when he says "Trombone!". When he attended his interview for acceptance to Perth Modern School music program way back in 1967 (yep... it's true! Graham was in the very first music specialist class at "Mod"!) he said his first pick of instrument was trombone.... god knows why! Who chooses trombone as their first pick?!

Graham says he was lucky that no one else wanted to play trombone in those days as it helped him get a gig as resident Bass Trombone player in the Arts Orchestra as well doing stints with WASO, the Will Upson Big Band as well as many touring acts such as the Supremes, Johnny Farnham (yes, he was known as Johnny back in those days!) and says his 'best ever gig' was with The Bee Gees at the WACA. Awesome!

With 34 years experience playing and selling brass & wind instruments Graham reckons there's not too many questions he wont be able to answer about anything in regards to orchestral instruments.

Here's a pic of Graham pretending to jam along with Tommy Emmanuel at a BBQ in Graham's back yard last year. Graham & Tom are great mates and usually get to hang out whenever Tom is in Perth. Graham says it was the first time he'd had his trombone out "for a few years" and says it was that and not the red wine that caused his neighbour to call the police... but we're not so sure!
