Donations resulting from our 35th Anniversary Quiz night are continuing and last week Graham was privileged to deliver musical equipment to the value of $2,708.00 to the Carson Street School in East Victoria Park for kids with special needs. Their needs were for a Makala ukulele for use by their music specialist in the classroom, as well as a Roland monitor amplifier and 6 of these very cool carved Toca Djembes mounted on special stands that will allow kids in wheelchairs to access them more easily & more fully particpate in the music sessions.  Music Specialist Tim Schoenmaker was on hand along with student Isabelle McIntyre to accept delivery & to test one of the djembes.  As you can see, it looks like they are going to be a very popular & useful donation!

The Sir David Brand School for kids with cerebral palsy was also on our list of beneficiaries so yet another delivery was of a Roland RP401 piano valued at $1799. The piano will greatly enhance the ability of Guiseppe Reina to run his music therapy sessions each week at the School. Guiseppe and School Principal Hilary Palmer were on hand to accept delivery & also explain how they are hoping to partner with nearby WAAPA (West Australian Acadamey for Performing Arts) in 2016 to develop a more expansive therapy programme for which we wish all the very best.

Afeif & Jamal from the Until We Return African Vocal Group also came to Concept Music this week to personally select the instruments they need to expand their work promoting cultural harmony & acceptance in Australia.  They are seen here with Graham & the brand new set of Toca congas, Yamaha bass guitar & Solo tenor saxophone they selected & we can't wait to hear them in use.  The group was also present at the Quiz Night to perform several songs in their native language of Sudanese & we wish them all the vesry best as they look for new opportunites to spread their valuable & timely message.

These donations of the Roland piano, Toca Djembes and Congas & Solo saxophone bring the total value of instruments donated so far to $9,953 with VIP Rocks still to receive their donation of microphones, bass guitar & percussion instruments enxt week. Thank you once again to everyone who has contributed to assisting all our beneficiaries in such a significant way.
